Hamilton musical returns to Baltimore’s Hippodrome Theatre in March 2027

The beloved Broadway show “Hamilton,” written and originally performed by Lin‑Manuel Miranda, is set to return to Baltimore’s Hippodrome Theatre next spring. The production will run from March 9 through March 28, 2027, marking the theater’s first staging of the musical since its October 2022 engagement.

Ticket sales begin Thursday

Public ticket sales start at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 27. Prices will range from $63 for the most affordable seats to $286 for premium locations. In addition, the Hippodrome will hold a lottery for 40 seats priced at $10 for each performance, giving families and fans a chance to experience the show at a reduced cost. Each purchaser may buy up to nine tickets per transaction.

Tickets can be purchased through the Hippodrome’s official website, in person at the box office located at 12 N. Eutaw St., or by calling the dedicated ticket line at 800‑343‑3103.

Producer urges buyers to use official channels

Jeffrey Seller, the show’s producer, reminded potential attendees to buy tickets only through the theater’s authorized outlets. “It’s tempting to get tickets any way you can,” Seller said, “but many sites and individuals sell overpriced or even fraudulent tickets. For the best seats, the best prices, and to eliminate the risk of counterfeit tickets, all purchases for the Baltimore engagement should be made through the Hippodrome’s official website or app.”

Why “Hamilton” continues to draw crowds

More than a decade after its debut, “Hamilton” remains a cultural phenomenon. The musical blends hip‑hop, R&B, pop, and traditional theater to tell the story of Alexander Hamilton, an orphan and immigrant who became a Founding Father, the first Secretary of the Treasury, and a key architect of the nation’s early government. The show explores his relationships with George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Aaron Burr, and his wife Eliza Schuyler, weaving themes of ambition, conflict, love, and legacy.

“Hamilton” has earned 11 Tony Awards, a Grammy, an Olivier, and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. The creative team includes director Thomas Kail, choreographer Andy Blankenbuehler, musical supervisor Alex Lacamoire, scenic designer David Korins, costume designer Paul Tazewell, lighting designer Howell Binkley, sound designer Nevin Steinberg, and hair and wig designer Charles G. LaPointe. Casting is handled by Telsey + Company, Bethany Knox, and CSA.

What this means for Baltimore

The Hippodrome Theatre’s hosting of “Hamilton” underscores Baltimore’s growing reputation as a destination for major touring productions. The engagement is expected to draw visitors from across Maryland and the Mid‑Atlantic region, providing a boost to local hospitality businesses, restaurants, and transportation services. Community leaders have praised the event as an opportunity for families to experience high‑quality arts programming without traveling to New York or Washington, D.C.

For residents who have not yet seen the show, the upcoming run offers a chance to witness a piece of American history presented through a modern, diverse lens. With ticket options that include a $10 lottery, the production aims to be accessible to a broad audience while still offering premium experiences for dedicated theatergoers.

How to plan your visit

Attendees should consider arriving early to explore the Hippodrome’s historic lobby and nearby downtown attractions. Parking is available in several municipal lots, and public transit options include the BaltimoreLink bus routes that stop within walking distance of the theater. For families, the $10 lottery seats provide an affordable entry point, while the higher‑priced tickets offer closer proximity to the stage and enhanced viewing angles.

Mark your calendars for March 9‑28, 2027, and be ready to secure tickets when sales open on Aug. 27. Whether you are a longtime fan or a first‑time viewer, the upcoming Baltimore engagement of “Hamilton” promises an unforgettable theatrical experience that celebrates the nation’s founding story and the power of music to bring history to life.
