The Alabama Cooperative Extension System is hosting a community baby shower and donation drive in Hale County. The event, called the ‘Today’s Mom’ Drop & Go Drive-Thru Baby Shower and Donation Drive, will be held on Friday, July 10, from 10 a.m. until noon at the Hale County Extension Office.
Community members are encouraged to donate new, unopened baby essentials, including bottles, baby wash, lotion, baby oil, washcloths, blankets, car seats, and other newborn necessities. Organizers say gender-neutral items are preferred.
All donations will benefit families participating in the six-week Today’s Mom program in Hale County, which provides education, encouragement, and resources to support healthy pregnancies and early childhood development.
Families attending the event will also have access to educational materials and community organizations offering health information and support services. Community partners include Community Service Programs of West Alabama, Lighthouse Women’s Center, the Tuscaloosa Latino Coalition, and the West Alabama Cardiac Health Program.
