A Groveland police officer, Mya Salas, 24, has been suspended following her arrest in Leesburg, where she’s accused of following her ex’s car and ramming it multiple times with her vehicle.

Leesburg police responded to a 911 call from the victim, who reported a road rage incident involving his ex-girlfriend, Salas, in the Walmart parking lot along Citrus Boulevard. Salas allegedly told police she acted on a ‘hunch’ after seeing the victim at someone else’s residence, contrary to his claim that he would be at a basketball game.
The victim stated that he and Salas had lived together for several years and were in an on-again, off-again relationship that he sought to end. He also alleged that Salas’ demeanor had changed since she became a police officer, thinking ‘she was above the law.’
Salas faces charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and aggravated stalking, both domestic. The Groveland Police Department has suspended her pending an investigation.
