Work on Gregory Lane, the largest public works project in the Town of Jackson, continues this week with updated road closures. On Tuesday, starting at 9 a.m., water will be turned off for parts of Gregory Lane to install a new cap on the existing water main line near V-O Lane.
Parts of Gregory Lane south of V-O Lane will also close on Tuesday for the temporary shutdown. Once work is complete, the road closure will shift to the current location between North Park Transportation and Roadhouse.
Crews will install temporary water services between North Park Transportation and 1155 Gregory Lane, which will require some excavation. A new water main line will continue north from a new hydrant at North Park Transportation. Stormwater will also be installed from the Martin Lane and Gregory Lane intersection to the storm inlet west of the entrance of Bison Lumber.
According to Town of Jackson Associate Engineer Jeff Stillman, "For properties adjacent to this stretch of Gregory Lane, we recommend removing aerators from faucets and running cold water for 10-15 minutes. If you experience sediment, air, cloudiness, or a slight odor, flush an additional 10-15 minutes. If conditions persist, please contact the Town of Jackson."
