The community gathered to remember Greenville native Peabo Bryson on July 10 with a wreath laying on Academy Street near Bon Secours Wellness Arena. Academy Street is honorarily named Robert Peabo Bryson Boulevard.
Bryson, a two-time Grammy award winner, died June 2 after suffering a stroke at age 75. He sung duets for “Beauty and the Beast” with Celine Dion and “A Whole New World” with Regina Belle, both of which won Academy Awards for Best Original Song.
