The Greenville Humane Society has opened its expanded facility on Airport Road, featuring a spay and neuter center and a multipurpose pavilion. The new building is located across the street from the existing campus at 305 Airport Road.
Expanded Services
The Humane Society performs nearly 14,000 surgeries annually and plans to add a water fountain and a new path for easier access to the center. CEO Rachel Delport shared a story about a family who received life-saving surgery for their dog at a fraction of the usual cost.
Delport said the new building would offer this level of care to more animals, stating, “Today we celebrate more than a building, we celebrate a promise… that every family deserves access to compassionate, affordable, veterinary care and that together we are creating a brighter future and a healthier future for pets.”
The new building was funded by donations, with the Humane Society raising $6.3 million of the $8.5 million goal. Donations can still be made at greenvillehumane.com/future.
