A motorcycle rider is lucky to be alive after a nasty crash in Green Township in mid-July. The crash occurred on Haft Road, near I-74, when the motorcyclist experienced a ‘death wobble’ and lost control of his bike, sending him crashing into a steep creek below.
Rescue Efforts
Green Township first responders, including firefighter and paramedic Landen Brent, rushed to the scene to rescue the injured motorcyclist. The rescue efforts were captured on body camera footage, which shows the dramatic moments as the responders worked to save the man’s life.
The motorcyclist was eventually pulled out of the creek and loaded onto an ambulance. It took just 18 minutes from the time the responders received the call to get the man to safety. The victim was then flown to a hospital via medical helicopter, where he is undergoing treatment for his injuries.
According to the responders, the motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries, including a suspected collapsed lung. The quick actions of the first responders likely saved the man’s life, and their training and expertise were on full display during the rescue efforts.
