The New York Giants have returned home for training camp, but their practice facility is still under construction. The team is making do with makeshift conditions, including a temporary locker room.
Construction and Adjustments
Coach John Harbaugh acknowledged the challenges posed by the construction, but also saw a silver lining. “It’s gritty, so maybe it’s just what we needed,” he said. “Maybe God said, ‘I need you to be a little grittier as a football team.'”
The Giants have practiced 11 times in 13 days, with a full-pads session on Monday. Quarterback Jaxson Dart is fine after having his right foot stepped on, and is showing growth in his second season as the undisputed starter.
Despite the challenges, the team is staying focused on their goals. “It’s not the Taj Mahal over there, and we have to make it better,” Harbaugh said. “It’s as good as we could do right now, but you kind of learn real quick what you need.”
