Georgiana School Key Club Empowers Students with Summer Enrichment Series

The Georgiana School Key Club, under the guidance of advisor Rae Longmire, is actively engaging students in a summer enrichment series aimed at boosting their professional success. This initiative provides students with practical skills essential for their future endeavors.

Interactive Learning for Real-World Success

The program features interactive activities where students learn to differentiate between professional and unprofessional responses. These activities include role-playing scenarios with future bosses, leaders, and parents, as well as sorting through email examples to identify respectful communication. Such exercises are designed to prepare students for real-world professional interactions.

In addition to these activities, students have the opportunity to hear from industry professionals. Notably, Teresa Lawson from Action 8 News, among others, shared insights on the importance of maintaining professionalism, the risks associated with negative social media posts, and the significance of using appropriate tone, timing, and body language in communication.

Student Reflections

Key Club member Jakiriya Morga expressed the value of the program, stating, “Today I learned about using body language, how to respond to certain things, having a good attitude, and just stuff that you learn in the real world.” This feedback highlights the practical benefits the students are gaining from the series.

The Georgiana Key Club plans to continue with two more sessions throughout June, further enriching the students’ learning experience and preparing them for future success.
