The Georgiana Police Department is expanding its police force in preparation for the town’s continued growth and community safety. The department is adding three new officers to its dedicated team who are ready to protect and serve the citizens of Georgiana.
Enhancing Community Safety
With city funding and support, Police Chief Jeremy Peagler is now able to add two new full-time and one part-time officer to help create a solid, well-rounded force. The addition has allowed the city to solve two pressing issues: petty theft and a lack of School Resource Officers, as the city is now able to place a full-time School Resource Officer at the Georgiana School.
Officer Davin Spears, one of the newly instated officers, expressed his desire to show the youth that there is more to life than engaging in negative activities. The department isn’t done yet and is hoping to add one additional Academy Trained officer to their team.
