The Georgia Tech Solar Racing team, made up of more than 100 students from the university, designed and built the car themselves. Known as the SR-4 Aurora, the car is Georgia Tech’s first multi-occupant vehicle, capable of carrying four people.
“This amazing project showcases the innovation, engineering, and teamwork of these students, who designed and built the car themselves,” Weatherford officials wrote in a social media post. “We wish the Georgia Tech team safe travels as they continue their journey along the Mother Road. Thank you for stopping in Weatherford and sharing your passion for innovation with our community!”
