Georgia Sen. Jon Ossoff has seen a notable rise in prediction market odds and national search metrics for the 2028 Democratic presidential nomination, according to data highlighted by CNN chief data analyst Harry Enten.
Ossoff’s Chances Rise
Data from the Kalshi prediction market shows Ossoff’s chances of securing the nomination rising from 5% on Jan. 1 to 16%. Over the same period, California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s market odds declined from 35% to 18%, while Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) stood at 15%.
Ossoff, who is currently seeking re-election to the U.S. Senate in Georgia, held a 13-point lead in a recent Fox News poll regarding his Senate race. By comparison, the largest victory margin for a Democratic Senate candidate in Georgia this century was Sen. Raphael Warnock’s three-point win in 2022.
In addition to polling numbers and online metrics, Ossoff has posted strong campaign finance figures. He has raised $77 million for his current campaign, making him the top Senate fundraiser of the current election cycle and placing him among the highest-funded Senate candidates this century.
