St. Augustine is seeing redevelopment at the former Adventure Landing site, with Jacksonville-based Gate Petroleum purchasing a portion of the 7.1-acre property for $2.1 million on July 24.
Gate confirmed it has plans for a Gate Express Car Wash, although there is no development timeline as of yet, according to a spokesperson.
The purchase and planned use identify an end user for a more comprehensive redevelopment effort underway at the former amusement park site at 2780 Florida 16.
St. Johns County is reviewing plans to demolish the park and redevelop the property, which includes a commercial application and site plan calling for replacing the park with five outparcels, improved shared access, a new parking layout, utilities, and upgraded stormwater management.
