A man was shot at by a Fuquay-Varina police officer late Friday night after he pointed a firearm at the officer, according to police.
The Fuquay-Varina Police Department said that around 11:15 p.m., an officer on patrol noticed a man walking along the railroad tracks behind Action Park on Wake Chapel Road. The person reportedly pointed a firearm at the officer, police said. The officer fired at the person, who ran away.
The Wake County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit and units from the North Carolina State Highway Patrol helped search the area, but the person was not found. The officer was not injured.
