Drivers in Summerland, Calif. are seeing higher fuel prices due to the war in Iran. Global oil prices have risen to near $90 a barrel, a six percent increase. Regular unleaded gas prices in Carpinteria and Summerland are between $5.40 and $5.95 a gallon.
Some gas stations have covered their pumps with red or yellow bags as they wait for new deliveries. Commuters are taking notice of the price hike. Ramon Maldonado of Oxnard said, “It is not good these days.” Maldonado tries to save on gas by carpooling from Oxnard to Goleta.
Tourists visiting the area have noted that gas prices are even higher in San Francisco. The increase in fuel prices is affecting drivers across the region.
