The city of Fruitland Park officially swore in Chief Henry Rains after he served as interim chief for nearly two years. The ceremony took place in front of fellow officers and police chiefs from neighboring communities.
Community Focus
Rains said his focus will include retention and addressing the city’s growth. While handling crime remains a key responsibility, Rains emphasized the department’s broader role in the community. “Our police department is woven in our community. We are with our schools. We work with our faith-based communities, also, so it’s more than just solving crimes. We are one with the community, we try to help people as much as possible,” Rains said.
