Taylor Fritz was defeated by Alexander Zverev in the Wimbledon quarter-finals on Wednesday. Fritz, who had beaten Zverev in their previous seven clashes, was hampered by a chronic right knee problem that flared up early in the match.
Fritz’s Knee Issue
Fritz arrived at the Court One encounter with confidence in his body renewed after reaching the finals of Stuttgart and Halle. However, he started feeling his knee three games into the match and needed treatment at the start of the second set. Despite this, Fritz believes he could have played better through the issue.
Zverev will now face Arthur Fery in the semi-finals, and Fritz thinks the German will be incredibly tough to beat due to his serving. Fritz also believes that the crowd, playing in front of a partisan Centre Court crowd, may cause some issues for Zverev.
