French media have asked the country’s anti-trust watchdog to act on Google’s artificial intelligence-generated article summaries, which they say deprive them of traffic.
The media have called on the regulator to make a decision similar to the one in July that ordered Meta to put forward a payment plan and resume talks with traditional media that are seeking fees for the use of their content by platforms’ AI tools.
