Teton Valley, Idaho – Curling is back at Kotler Ice Arena with a fresh format that offers more flexibility for locals who want to try the sport or join a league this winter.
Free Explore Curling Night
On Friday, Oct. 30, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., the Teton Curling Club will host a free “Explore Curling” night. No experience, equipment, or long‑term commitment is required—just show up, throw a few stones, and learn the basics of this centuries‑old Scottish sport, often called “chess on ice.”
Attendees will hear about key terms such as the hammer, shot rock, and freeze, and get a hands‑on feel for the strategy, teamwork, and friendly competition that make curling an Olympic fan favorite.
New Five‑Week Leagues
For the 2026‑2027 season, the Teton Curling Club is launching two shorter, five‑week leagues to give curlers more options. Participants can join the fall league (select Sundays, Nov. 8 – Dec. 13) or the spring league (select Sundays, Feb. 7 – Mar. 19), or both, depending on their schedule.
These leagues are designed for both seasoned curlers and newcomers, providing a welcoming community for anyone interested in the sport.
Grand Teton Bonspiel
The arena will also host the 6th Annual Grand Teton Bonspiel from Jan. 29 to 31, drawing teams from across the country for a weekend of competition, camaraderie, and fun.
For registration details and more information about the free night or the upcoming leagues, visit the Teton Curling Club’s website.
