Free Artful Hour at Jackson’s People’s Market Highlights Local Food Talent

Jackson, WY — The People’s Market’s summer Artful Hour is turning its spotlight to food, offering a series of free, hands‑on workshops for local residents. Hosted by Slow Food in the Tetons in partnership with the Center for the Arts, the program runs each Wednesday at 5 p.m. in the Center Tent on the northwest lawn.

Weekly Food‑Focused Sessions

Four workshops are scheduled through Sept. 23, each led by a local chef or food entrepreneur who will share practical techniques and creative ideas for home cooking using fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

  • Sept. 2 – The Perfect Salad Dressing: Brian Ralph of Bona Furtuna demonstrates how to craft balanced, flavorful dressings.
  • Sept. 9 – Fresh Ricotta at Home: Ian McGregor of Farmstead Wyoming walks participants through making ricotta from scratch.
  • Sept. 16 – Aioli 101: Executive Chef Remle Colestock of Glorietta Trattoria teaches the basics of homemade aioli.
  • Sept. 23 – Bring the Heat: Hot Sauce: Chef Bryan Piironen of Nora’s Fish Creek Inn shares tips for creating custom hot sauces.

All sessions are free and open to the public, providing a family‑friendly way to explore new culinary skills, support local producers, and strengthen the community’s food culture.

Why It Matters

By offering accessible, educational programming, the Artful Hour aligns with Jackson’s tradition of celebrating local artisans and fostering a vibrant, family‑centered community. Residents can learn to make the most of seasonal produce, support local businesses, and enjoy a shared experience that reinforces the town’s strong sense of place.

For more information or to sign up for future workshops, visit the People’s Market website or stop by the Center Tent on any Wednesday in September.
