FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. – Local law‑enforcement announced that four men from Maryland have been formally charged in connection with a string of burglaries that struck homes rendered uninhabitable by recent fires. The crimes, which occurred between November 2025 and July 2026, involved the theft of high‑value items from five separate residences across the county.
Timeline of the incidents
The first reported break‑in took place in November 2025 on Shellbark Place in Reston. A family whose house had suffered fire damage earlier that month discovered that a gun safe had been removed from inside the home and a Porsche Macan was taken from the driveway. Subsequent burglaries were reported in May and July 2026 at three additional locations: San Carlos Drive and Bulova Lane in the Fair Oaks area, and Blue Steel Way in West Springfield.
During the later incidents, thieves took cash, a guitar, headphones, jewelry, perfume and purses, among other personal belongings. Detectives linked the five burglaries by reviewing surveillance video, analyzing digital evidence and tracing the stolen property back to the suspects.
Charges and current status of the defendants
Four Maryland men have been identified and charged:
- Damon Murray, 22 – charged with two counts of burglary, grand larceny and conspiracy to commit grand larceny; currently held in North Carolina pending extradition.
