Four Local High School Players Score Four Touchdowns Each in Week Three

Week Three of the Fayette County high school football season delivered a remarkable showcase of talent, as four players each tallied four touchdowns to lead their squads to commanding wins.

Linkon Keller powers Connellsville to 28‑14 victory

Connellsville senior Linkon Keller was instrumental in the Falcons’ 28‑14 triumph over Laurel Highlands. Keller’s 24 points moved him into second place on the Herald‑Standard Touchdown Club leaderboard with a total of 44. He scored in three different ways: a 14‑yard interception return, two receptions of 86 and 5 yards from quarterback Jeffrey Nicholson, and a 1‑yard plunge.

Ky‑mani Sumpter helps Waynesburg Central stay unbeaten

Waynesburg Central’s Ky‑mani Sumpter added four touchdowns in a 35‑0 shutout of Albert Gallatin, pushing his point total to 26 and tying him for sixth place with California’s Brandon Meier. Sumpter’s runs came on plays of 9, 4, 1 and 15 yards, contributing to the Raiders’ perfect 3‑0 start.

DeSean Whipkey leads Beth‑Center to 46‑13 win

DeSean Whipkey continued his scoring streak with an 87‑yard dash and a 1‑yard plunge, plus two long receptions—34 and 31 yards—from quarterback Chase Bebout. His 24‑point performance kept him atop the area’s touchdown rankings, bringing his season total to 48.

Dawson Wolfe sparks Scotties’ first win

Scotties senior quarterback Dawson Wolfe delivered a versatile performance against Uniontown at Russ Grimm Field, scoring on runs of 10, 9, 17 and 11 yards and converting a two‑point attempt. Wolfe’s 26 points vaulted him into fifth place overall with 32 points.

Other notable contributors this week included Marcus Evans of the Red Raiders, who added three touchdown catches from Brayden Hinzy to reach 36 points and hold fourth place, and Enzo Brown of Beth‑Center, who sits just two points behind Keller with 42 points.

Waynesburg Central and Beth‑Center remain the only unbeaten teams in the local standings, each now 3‑0. The competitive landscape continues to tighten as the season progresses, promising more exciting matchups for fans across the county.
