Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office deputies announced four arrests and the recovery of a large portion of stolen property in connection with a rural burglary investigation that began in late October.
Investigation timeline
According to a Facebook post from the Sheriff’s Office, investigators learned on Oct. 29 that suspects had gained access to shops and outbuildings on a property along Norris Ranch Road between Oct. 19 and Oct. 28. The suspects allegedly pretended to be buyers of military vehicles from an elderly resident in order to enter the site.
During the burglary, multiple tools, welding equipment, an air compressor, collectible items and several firearms were taken. Some of the stolen items later appeared for sale on online marketplaces.
Multi‑agency search effort
The investigation expanded to include the Winnemucca Police Department and Nevada Parole and Probation. Deputies executed several court‑authorized search warrants at residences on East Sixth Street, West Sixth Street and Granada Avenue, as well as a vehicle and a local storage unit.
Searches yielded a substantial portion of the missing tools, equipment and collectibles, which have been returned to the victims. Deputies also recovered a standard .22‑caliber long rifle, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and an electric scooter linked to a separate July theft.
Arrests and charges
Four adults were booked into the Humboldt County Detention Center on a range of felony and gross misdemeanor counts. Three individuals are tied to the original burglary, while a fourth is accused of concealing stolen property and possessing controlled substances.
Charges include possession of stolen property, grand larceny of a firearm, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, possession of a dangerous weapon, elder exploitation, conspiracy to commit a crime, destroying or concealing evidence, possession of a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia and probation violations.
Missing firearm still sought
Investigators continue to search for a stainless‑steel Ruger GP100 .357 Magnum revolver with a wooden grip that remains unaccounted for. The Sheriff’s Office urges anyone with information about the missing gun or any aspect of the case to contact them.
Safety reminder for residents
The Sheriff’s Office also reminded community members, especially older residents, to exercise caution when allowing unfamiliar individuals onto private property to inspect items offered for sale. Vigilance can help prevent future exploitation and theft.
