The Fort Worth Stockyards auction barn, a landmark in the city since the early 20th century, has been converted into a studio and live venue called the Auction Barn Studio. RFD Studios, the company behind the transformation, aims to bring new life to the historic building while preserving its original character.
A New Chapter for the Stockyards
The Auction Barn Studio will host live music performances, special events, and private rentals. The venue seats approximately 375 guests and features modern amenities such as multi-camera production, live switching capabilities, and LED stage lighting. Despite the updates, the building still maintains its connection to the past, with original wooden bleachers and the old scale room still intact.
The first public event at the Auction Barn Studio will be the Stockyards Gospel Night on July 11. The studio has also served as a production hub for nationally televised programming and hosted a Rural Town Hall event with the Congressional Western Caucus and Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins.
Development Opportunities in the Stockyards
In related news, a 3.25-acre site near the historic Fort Worth Stockyards has been listed for development. The property, located at 319 NE 23rd St, offers a rare opportunity for high-density development in the area. The flexible zoning of the area makes it suitable for restaurant, retail, hospitality, office, or mixed-use development.
