The city of Fort Worth plans to install a traffic signal, marked crosswalks, and redesigned left-turn lanes at the Camp Bowie West Boulevard and Broadmoor Drive intersection. This $2 million project aims to increase vehicle capacity and safety, reduce delays, and improve the intersection’s level of service.
Project Details
Roughly 23,000 vehicles pass through the section each day. The project, located in Council District 3, will add pedestrian crossings and redesign left-turn lanes to improve safety. Construction is scheduled to begin in June 2027 and is projected to be complete by early 2028.
The intersection is part of the city’s Vision Zero High-Injury Network, which identifies streets and intersections with the highest concentrations of fatal and serious-injury crashes. The city uses this data to prioritize safety improvements.
Vision Zero Initiative
Vision Zero is a data-supported strategy based on the premise that traffic deaths and serious injuries are preventable. The city adopted the plan in September 2025. A 2021 Roadway Safety Assessment identified infrastructure improvements needed to reduce risks at the Camp Bowie West Boulevard and Broadmoor Drive intersection.
