Fort Worth Humane Society showcases adoptable dogs Garver and Cruella

The Humane Society of North Texas (HSNT) is inviting Fort Worth and Keller residents to meet two new adoptable dogs that embody the city’s lively spirit. Garnering attention with cowboy hats and bandanas, Garver, a three‑year‑old German shepherd, and Cruella, a two‑month‑old mixed‑breed puppy, were photographed for a “Fur Friday” feature that underscores the organization’s mission to match pets with caring homes.

Garver’s adventurous past

Garver’s story began with a curious nose for fresh‑baked goods. The German shepherd slipped into a local bakery, drawn by the scent of bread, and unintentionally created a flour‑covered mess. Staff discovered him happily frolicking amid the white powder, looking like a friendly ghost. The incident revealed key traits: high energy, intelligence, curiosity, and a playful sense of humor. Garver learns quickly, especially when treats are involved, making him a good fit for families who value an active, trainable companion.

Cruella’s puppy charm

Cruella, despite a name that might suggest mischief, is a typical two‑month‑old puppy who takes her responsibilities seriously—namely, exploring everything in sight and occasionally making choices that seem perfect at the moment. Her playful nature and willingness to engage with people make her an ideal candidate for a home that can provide guidance, training, and plenty of affection.

Adoption details

HSNT’s adoption process includes a fee that varies based on age, size, length of stay, and public demand. Prospective adopters can learn more by visiting the Fort Worth or Keller locations, or by checking the organization’s website, HSNT.org, which lists upcoming off‑site adoption events held six days a week. The society encourages potential owners to follow its social‑media channels—Facebook, Instagram, Threads, and TikTok—for updates on available pets and success stories.

Cassie Davidson, vice president of marketing, communications and public relations for HSNT, emphasized that each adoption is a “match that changes lives,” highlighting the mutual benefit for both the animal and the family. The society’s broader mission remains focused on improving animal welfare throughout North Texas, with a particular emphasis on community involvement and education.

Why adopt locally?

Adopting a pet from a local shelter supports the regional animal‑care network, reduces transportation stress for the animal, and helps keep shelters from becoming overcrowded. For Fort Worth and Keller families, choosing a local shelter also means easier access to post‑adoption resources, such as training classes, veterinary referrals, and community events.

Garver and Cruella serve as reminders that perfect behavior is not a prerequisite for a rewarding companionship. Their personalities promise laughter, activity, and lasting memories for the right households. Interested residents are encouraged to visit the Humane Society of North Texas soon, as both dogs may find their forever homes at any time.
