LINCOLN, Nebraska – Former state senator Brett Lindstrom officially entered the 2026 Nebraska gubernatorial race on Tuesday by filing his candidacy with the Secretary of State’s office. Lindstrom seeks the nomination of the America First Party, a new political option that positions itself as a conservative alternative for voters seeking a different voice in state government.

If the filing is approved by Secretary of State Bob Evnen, Lindstrom will appear on the November 3 ballot alongside incumbent Republican Governor Jim Pillen, Democratic challenger Lynne Walz, and Legal Marijuana Now candidate Rick Beard.
