The Florida Police Chiefs Association (FPCA) announced its formal endorsement of U.S. Senator Ashley Moody on Monday, marking the latest law enforcement group to back her Senate campaign.
Law Enforcement Support
The announcement adds to a list of law enforcement endorsements for Moody, who previously served as Florida’s Attorney General. According to her campaign, she has also secured endorsements from 64 county sheriffs of both political parties, all 15 Republican state attorneys in Florida, the Florida Police Benevolent Association, and the Florida State Fraternal Order of Police.
“I am honored to have earned the support of the Florida Police Chiefs Association,” Moody said in a statement. “Standing with the men and women who put on the badge every day to keep our communities safe isn’t new for me – I stood up for them as Florida’s Attorney General, and I’m continuing that effort now as your U.S. Senator. Florida’s law enforcement community can always count on me.”
FPCA Leadership Comments
FPCA leadership highlighted Moody’s personal and professional ties to the law enforcement community during the announcement. FPCA President David Currey noted that Moody’s perspective is shaped by her experience as a law enforcement spouse.
“Every chief in this association goes home at night thinking about one thing: making sure their officers get home too. Resourced properly. Supported mentally and physically. Treated with the dignity this job demands,” Currey said. “Ashley Moody thinks about that too, not just as a senator, but as a law enforcement spouse. She gets it in a way that very few people in public life truly do.”
