A 37-year-old man, Victor Vivian Cano Franco, died in a work-related incident in the Florida Keys, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. The incident happened Tuesday morning at 4250 Overseas Highway in Marathon, where rocks are crushed into smaller pieces.
Cano Franco was struck by a front-end loader and his body was severed as a result, the sheriff’s office said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives are investigating, and autopsy results are pending. However, foul play is not believed to be a factor, officials said. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration was notified of the incident.
