Florida Keys Chase Ends in Arrest

A Hialeah man is behind bars after leading police on a high-speed chase down U.S. 1 in the Florida Keys. On June 12, 2026, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office arrested 28-year-old Deivys De Jesus Garcia Aguilar, who was riding a sport motorcycle at the time.

Chase Details

The incident started around 8:36 p.m. near Mile Marker 92. Deputies noticed the motorcycle didn’t have a visible license plate and tried to make a routine traffic stop. Instead of pulling over, Garcia Aguilar took off, hitting speeds of over 100 mph while fleeing. The Sheriff’s Office called off the pursuit for safety reasons.

The Florida Highway Patrol tracked the motorcycle down and managed to stop him further up the highway near Mile Marker 103. Authorities confirmed that no one was seriously injured during the incident.

Following the traffic stop, Garcia Aguilar was taken straight to jail. The Sheriff’s Office booked him for reckless driving and fleeing and eluding. The FHP also filed additional charges against him.
