Early Monday morning, five people were wounded in a shooting on Saint Lazaria Circle. Police say the incident left multiple people injured and that the investigation into what happened is ongoing.
Officers were called to the 500 block of Saint Lazaria Circle at about 1:40 a.m. after reports of gunfire. When they arrived, investigators say they found that an exchange of gunfire had occurred at a residence on the block.
Two of the victims were taken to local hospitals and are expected to survive, according to authorities. Three additional people suffered non-life-threatening gunshot wounds and were also treated for their injuries.
Police say they are still working to determine the motive for the shooting and whether the people involved knew each other. The investigation remains active as detectives continue to gather evidence and interview witnesses.
Authorities are asking anyone with information who has not yet spoken to police to contact dispatch by calling 3-1-1. Officials continue to urge residents with tips or video footage from the area to come forward to assist the probe.
