Fiesta Village Family Fun Park, a family-friendly destination in Colton, California, has announced its closure after 50 years of operation. The park will close its doors on July 11.
Reasons for Closure
According to the park’s leadership, rising operating costs, low attendance, and competition from larger amusement parks are the reasons behind the closure. The park, which once welcomed 3,000 guests on weekends, has seen a significant decline in attendance, with only a few hundred visitors in recent times.
The park’s Vice President of Operations, Maria Blanco, stated that the decision to close was necessary, citing the park’s reduced staff from 60 to 25 employees.
Fiesta Village Family Fun Park first opened in 1974 and was purchased by Michelle O’Brien in 2002. The park featured eight acres of family-friendly fun, including a miniature golf course, a skate park, an arcade, and carnival rides.
