Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh has established five task forces to review the U.S. central bank’s operations, covering technical issues like management of its balance sheet as well as forward-leaning ones like the impact of artificial intelligence.
Task Force Leaders Announced
The central bank has named the leaders of these groups, which will operate independently and provide candid feedback. The group includes people from across the policy spectrum, such as Harvard University economics professor Raj Chetty and famed tech investor Marc Andreessen.
Warsh stated that the goal of the task forces is to ensure the Fed is best positioned to achieve its objectives in this consequential time. The task forces will carefully consider whether policymakers’ means and methods, analytical tools, and policy approaches can be improved upon.
