FBI Foils Plot to Attack UFC Event

A 19-year-old man’s parents reported him to police, leading to the discovery of a plot to attack a UFC event at the White House with drones and semi-automatic rifles. The man, Tycen Proper, had been communicating with a group of individuals who shared ultra-religious and anti-government sentiments.

Plot Details

According to court documents, the group discussed using drones rigged with explosives and snipers positioned on rooftops to kill high-value targets, including politicians and wealthy individuals. Proper had also allegedly planned to pick up another member of the group on his way to DC from Ohio, who was trying to procure a firearm for the trip.

The group, which included individuals from California, Nebraska, and Missouri, had been planning the attack for several months. They discussed practicing with drones and one unnamed person claimed to be able to build drones that could subvert standard remote jamming from law enforcement.

Proper’s parents had grown concerned about his recent behavior, including buying guns and communicating with the radical group online. They reported him to local police, who then alerted the FBI. Proper was taken into a local hospital by police and later charged with several counts, including conspiracy to commit an offense against the US and attempted murder of any officer or employee of the United States.
