Fayetteville Man Shot During Semi-Automatic Rifle Sale

A Fayetteville man was shot on Sunday afternoon while trying to sell a semi-automatic rifle to someone he met on Instagram, according to a preliminary police report from the Fayetteville Police Department.

The man told police he had messaged with someone on Instagram about selling them the semi-automatic rifle. They arranged to meet in a parking lot, where the other man drove a Camaro and brought two other people with him.

According to the report, the man showed the semi-automatic rifle, and one of the other men pulled out cash. A fight started, and during the fight, one of the other men pulled out a gun and shot the man multiple times.

The man ran off towards an apartment complex and saw the car drive off. Someone who lived at the apartments brought the man to the hospital. Detectives watched surveillance video that corroborated the man’s story and showed the Camaro’s license plate number.

That night, Bentonville police found an 18-year-old named Zane Tyler Le driving the Camaro and arrested him. Le told police he and two other men went to the meeting place to rob the man who was selling the semi-automatic rifle, according to the report.
