On her final day as Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard released a collection of declassified documents and whistleblower reports. The files allege that Dr. Anthony Fauci used U.S. taxpayer money to fund dangerous viral research in Wuhan, worked with intelligence leaders to suppress the COVID-19 lab-leak theory, and lied under oath to Congress during his 2024 testimony.
Allegations Against Fauci
The newly unsealed materials stem from a yearlong declassification review. According to the documents, Fauci oversaw the distribution of millions of U.S. taxpayer dollars to fund gain-of-function research on bat coronaviruses at the Wuhan Institute of Virology before the pandemic.
Gabbard framed the declassification as a necessary step for public accountability after years of lies, censorship, and cover-ups. The documents assert that Fauci’s close relationship with career leadership within the Intelligence Community created a self-serving circular reporting loop during the pandemic.
The materials also accuse Fauci of perjury during his 2024 testimony before the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic. While under oath, Fauci was asked directly if he spoke with the FBI, CIA, DIA, or any other U.S. intelligence agency regarding viral research.
