A 62-year-old man, Bart Diguglielmo of Lauderhill, was fatally shot during a dispute over a parking space at a North Lauderdale Walmart, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
The incident occurred shortly before 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday outside the store at 7900 W. McNab Road. Deputies found Diguglielmo suffering from a gunshot wound and he was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators said Diguglielmo and a woman had been involved in a dispute over a parking space before she opened fire. The woman stayed at the scene, cooperated with detectives, and claimed the shooting was in self-defense.
An investigation is ongoing, and the case will be presented to the Broward State Attorney’s Office to determine whether the woman will face criminal charges.
