LAS VEGAS — The niece of Alisa Goods, a 63‑year‑old woman from New York’s Upper East Side, confirmed Thursday that the unidentified body found near Harry Reid International Airport is her aunt’s. Goods had been staying with a close friend in Las Vegas when she left the residence on Saturday, August 8, to run an errand at a CVS pharmacy and never returned.
Family’s response
Alana Calloway, Goods’ niece, issued a statement on Friday expressing the family’s grief. “Our hearts are broken,” Calloway wrote. “We were notified that my aunt was found—unfortunately, not the way we wanted her to be. This is an unimaginable time. Words cannot describe the pain our family is experiencing right now.” She thanked the public for prayers and the media for drawing attention to the case, and asked for continued prayers and privacy as they seek answers.
Prior to her disappearance, Goods’ relatives reported receiving suspicious text messages from her phone requesting money. The family feared the worst after she failed to return from the CVS trip.
Investigation ongoing
Law enforcement officials have not released details about the circumstances surrounding Goods’ death. The investigation remains open, and authorities have not identified a suspect or motive at this time. The Las Vegas Police Department is asking anyone with information about the incident to contact them.
Goods’ family continues to mourn her loss while awaiting further updates from investigators. The case highlights the vulnerability of individuals traveling far from home and the importance of community support during such tragedies.
