WRAL is looking into a possible outage with Facebook and potentially other platforms. Around 9:40 a.m. Friday morning, WRAL noticed Facebook and its associated apps were not working properly.
According to Downdetector.com, which tracks website outage reports, nearly 100,000 people as of 9:50 a.m. reported issues with Facebook. When refreshing the page on the website, the error code 404 was displayed, indicating the web services platform on which Facebook operates could also be affected.
WRAL has reached out to Meta to get information on what’s happening and will update this story.
