The FAA’s proposed airworthiness directive would apply to 453 jets registered in the US, with each plane potentially having up to 69 track-mounted passenger seat assemblies that require correction. The issue can be fixed in an estimated one work-hour per assembly.
Boeing did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the matter. The FAA did not specify how quickly airlines would need to address the issue.
