A former Orange County probation officer accused of tipping off drug traffickers has been released from jail. Crystal Lawson, 32, posted her $1 million bond Sunday afternoon, about a month after her arrest.
Charges and Allegations
Lawson is facing more than 100 charges for accessing a sensitive court database after she was fired. Deputies said Lawson was granted access to the Comprehensive Case Information System database while working with the Department of Juvenile Justice in 2022. Prosecutors said Lawson accessed the database to locate warrants for other suspects.
A judge denied a motion to reduce her bond on Friday. Her next court date has not been scheduled.
