Evansville, Wyo. — The Evansville Town Council has unanimously voted to seek a $3.8 million grant to support a planned housing development. The development, led by North Platte Park Development LLC, aims to construct approximately 80 new homes northeast of Eagle Estates on the west end of Evansville.
Housing Development Details
The town is seeking a Building Resilient Communities grant through the Wyoming Business Council. If approved, the funding would be used to install water lines, sewer systems, and roadways for the project. The grant requires a match, with Evansville paying $63,896.19 and North Platte Park Development paying over $1.1 million in combined cash and in-kind matching funds.
The project was initially conceived about seven years ago but was put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The grant is essential to make the housing project a reality, according to town engineer Shane Porter.
