Espn Analyst Ryan Clark Fired

Ryan Clark, a former Super Bowl champion with the Pittsburgh Steelers, is no longer employed by ESPN. Clark was told the news on Monday during a taping of ESPN’s ‘NFL Live’ after OutKick had obtained the information and had asked the network for comment.

Culture War Retribution

A CNN panelist, Jason ‘Jah’ Lee, raised questions about the situation, pointing to Clark getting caught up in a ‘culture war’ leading to his demise at ESPN. Lee explained that OutKick, which is owned by Fox News Corp, had contacted ESPN threatening to leak the information, and that this was done to embarrass Clark.

Clark had been with ESPN since 2015 and made around $2 million per year, roughly four times what the average NFL analyst earns. His firing has sparked a debate about the role of ‘culture war’ in the sports media industry.
