Epstein’s assistant, Groff, testified before the House Oversight Committee on June 9, denying knowledge of any instance where travel was arranged for girls under 18 for sexual activity. She claimed the bookings were for ‘traveling assistants’ employed by Epstein.
Decoy Flights
Groff was pressed about ‘decoy flights’ arranged to obtain visas for women or girls. In a 2016 email exchange, Groff requested a flight from Rome to London, stating it was a ‘decoy flight’ and the woman would not actually take it. Groff’s attorney claimed there was no indication the flight was for a visa.
In another email exchange, Groff directed an American Express representative to cancel a fully refundable travel itinerary after an alleged consulate appointment. Groff claimed she was only facilitating a ticket and hotel room reservation for an assistant of Epstein’s who needed a visa.
