England defeated Mexico 3-2 in a World Cup match on Sunday night, overcoming a raucous crowd and the elevation of Estadio Azteca. Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane led England to the quarterfinals.

England’s Victory

Bellingham scored two goals 98 seconds apart in the first half. Kane converted a penalty to restore England’s two-goal lead after Jarell Quansah was sent off.

England moves on to face Norway on Saturday in Miami Gardens, Florida, for a spot in the semifinals. Mexico has not reached the World Cup quarterfinals since hosting in 1986.
