Elon Musk’s X has begun rolling out its X Money cards, with early users posting pictures of the metal Visa debit cards on social media. The cards are part of X Money, the billionaire’s attempt to turn X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, into a broader financial hub.
The first cards appear to be reaching a limited group of paying subscribers in the United States, after a first public launch on July 27. Users have expressed their excitement about the sleek design of the cards, with one user commenting on the premium feel of the metal card.
Musk has said he wants users to be able to manage their entire financial life on the app, in a push towards a so-called ‘everything app’ that combines messaging, payments, and banking-style services in one place. The service offers peer-to-peer transfers, a linked debit card, and, for some users, an interest-bearing balance.
