The fall elections are approaching, and every local election for state and national office is a referendum on Donald Trump. Despite his popularity trajectory falling, support remains firm with his core but declining base.
Trump’s Legacy
Trump and his family have enriched themselves by $2 billion over the last year, directly related to activities of the presidency. The current year federal deficit is $1.8 trillion, and federal debt has increased by $3 trillion to $39 trillion. The Iranian war continues with an unclear end in sight and/or strategy.
Trump’s approach to energy and climate change will ultimately haunt his legacy and our country. His administration has ceded world leadership in green energy technology to China, which will have long-term consequences for the U.S. and South Dakota, given its investment in wind energy.
