El Paso Zoo Offers Summer Camps for Young Aspiring Zookeepers

The El Paso Zoo and Botanical Gardens is excited to welcome children back to its summer zoo camps, providing a unique opportunity for young ones to become junior zookeepers. This year’s camps, themed ‘Beauty and Beasts,’ are designed for children ages 6 to 10. Participants will have the chance to engage closely with fascinating animals, explore diverse habitats from around the globe, and learn about conservation efforts.

Interactive Learning Experience

Running from June 1 through July 31, the weekly camp sessions are scheduled Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to noon. Each day promises new experiences, including behind-the-scenes tours, interactive games, and memorable animal encounters. The program aims to inspire a love for wildlife and educate campers on how everyday actions can contribute to protecting the natural world.

Each week-long session focuses on a different habitat, enhancing campers’ understanding of the natural environment. While sessions for June are already full, there are still 20 spots available for July. Interested families can register through the zoo’s website.
