The El Paso Mission Trail Association has unveiled a new community mural at the El Paso Mission Trail Visitors Center in the Lower Valley. The mural was created by Ysleta High School graduate and award-winning artist Robert Dozal.
Community Pride
According to the association, the artwork draws inspiration from the area’s historic missions, traditions, and people, highlighting the cultural heritage of the El Paso Mission Trail and the surrounding community. For Dozal, the project was an opportunity to give back to the community where he grew up.
“I wanted to leave my mark, you know, and contribute something colorful that the people of this community could be proud of,” Dozal said. The mural adds a new piece of public art to the Mission Trail while celebrating the people and traditions that have shaped the Mission Valley.
