The Humane Society of El Paso relies on dedicated volunteers to keep operations running year-round. Volunteers like Kim Heidemann, who started volunteering earlier this year, help care for the animals and provide them with the love and attention they need.
Volunteer Program
The volunteer program at the Humane Society of El Paso operates in a tiered program, giving volunteers the flexibility to serve in an area they enjoy. Heidemann is now a tail wagger, assisting with cleaning kennels, cleaning up after the animals, washing dishes, and sanitizing toys.
Heidemann said her love for animals fueled her decision to join the volunteer pack. She also enjoys connecting with other animal lovers and being part of the community. The Humane Society of El Paso will be hosting the 33rd Annual Happiness Happens Here Telethon on August 1st to raise funds for the shelter.
